World of Goo

by PATRICK PICHER

I don’t want to play anything else than World of Goo. All aspects of this game has a touch of “oh my god, I love it”. Visuals and sounds are like Super Mario World meets Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. There’s only one word to describe the gameplay… awesome!

To try out this success story from 2D Boy (they’re two), download the game trial available for Mac and PC.

Windosill

by PATRICK PICHER

Windosill is a game without instructions. In a interactive and twisted world, you must progress to the next room by unlocking a door… but you need to figure out how. Thumbs up to Patrick Smith for his excellent work!

5 Seconds Films

by HUGO MORIN

5-Second Films are exactly 5 seconds long, to the letter. I suggest you watch them all with the random button if you don’t go nuts, you’re not human.

This is my favorite: The Life Of Riley

Skittles.com got it right

by PIERRE-ÉTIENNE POULIN

“Skittles has unabashedly made the bold leap into accepting they can’t control the way their brand is defined in today’s social web and can only try their best to participate in the conversation. They’re taking the good with the bad, and I can assure you all that good is going to dramatically outweigh the bad.”

Great Job!

by SIMON BEDARD

Do you know Tim and Eric? I’ve just finished watching season 3.

Broadcasted on AdultSwim, Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job! is the most psychotronic-absurd-surreal comedy show since Alf, and it’s definitively a contender for the funniest show in the Universe. I know, I know… I’m a bit overreacting.

Tim and Eric are geniuses when it comes to uncomfortable moments, weird characters and incorporating lame VHS effects to their footage. Their almost abusive use of senior amateur comedians adds to the lot. Mix everything with guest star appearences (John C Reilly, Michael Cera) and you’ll have a crazy show with delirious sketchs and various tips on how to raise your child-clown.

And being stupid pays for T&E. Absolut Vodka commissioned them and their friend Zach Galifianakis for 3 carte blanche ads (they only had to say the name of the product). With the tagline “In An Absolut World Friends Would Get Together More Often”, the result is… stupid. I didn’t see the campaign results, but let say Absolut reached a lot of young guys for few money.

Unfortunately, if you’re in Canada, AdultSwim blocks the video feeds, but wiseguys will know where to look (some content is on youtube). The previous seasons are on sale in the iTunes iTunes Store.
